Ease your trunk into the fire of Now
Let it burn up dead wood, brown leaves, dried sap
Until a fresh green shoot stands up,
From earth up to the high high air
Where fire consorts with ether.
In their merging Now conceives Eternity.
Breathe down this new conception,
Carry it like precious holy water,
Yield to it your root-thirst.
Stop belonging to yourself,
Walk as its legs
Love as its heart
Witness as its voice.
