Betty Ladzekpo is a principal dancer of the Ladzekpo Brothers And The
African Music And Dance Ensemble. She has been with the company since 1974
and has performed at major venues throughout the USA and Europe. These include
privileged appearances at the world-class
Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, several seasons of San Francisco Ethnic
Dance Festival and The African Cultural Festival popularly known as
"The Africans Are Coming."Ms. Ladzekpo is a graduate of
University of California, Berkeley.
She has combined a brilliant career as a performer with teaching children the joy of
artistic expressions of various cultures around the world. She has led a quintet
performing group: Betty Ladzekpo And Friends on the 1991 - 1992 performance
roster of the Young Audience of the Bay Area, Inc., in concerts for young people
at numerous public school assembly and community centers in the Bay Area.
Ms. Ladzekpo is currently the director and choreographer of the EBCPA Youth West African
Music And Dance Ensemble resident in Richmond, California, and the Berkeley School
District's Arts Magnet School Dancers. |
Val Kai is an associate principal dancer of the Ladzekpo Brothers
and The African Music and Dance Ensemble. She has been with the company
since 1975. Ms Kai is a graduate of San
Francisco State University and holds a Bachelor's of Art degree in
dance. |
